Vatican, May 19, 2025 – Prof. Genti Kruja, President of Religions for Peace (RfP) Europe, participated in a special audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, organized by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
The meeting took place on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Vatican, bringing together representatives of various religious and spiritual traditions from around the world. The purpose of the audience was to strengthen interreligious dialogue and promote cooperation for peace, justice, and mutual understanding in an increasingly challenged global context.
During his address, the Pope reaffirmed his commitment to building bridges with all faiths in the spirit of human fraternity. In conclusion, he called for peace and inclusive development, rejecting war, the arms race, and an economy that impoverishes. He ended with a prayer for God’s blessing and a hope for a better world through the witness of our shared fraternity.
During the greeting, Mr. Kruja extended congratulations to Pope Leo XIV on his election, on behalf of Religions for Peace. He also conveyed RfP’s message of hope and commitment, emphasizing that the organization looks forward to close collaboration with His Holiness in building peace and advancing dialogue across the globe.
It is worth noting that Religions for Peace is present on every continent through its network of interreligious councils. In addition to serving as President of RfP Europe, Prof. Kruja also holds the positions of President of the European National Interreligious Bodies and Secretary General of the Interreligious Council of Albania.
