Prof. Genti Kruja elected as New President of European National Interreligious Bodies in Religions for Peace, Europe

European National Interreligious Bodies in Religions for Peace Europe recently organized an election for a new President.

The Precedency Board of ENIB announced the call for nomination in February and during this period members of the Board nominated in unanimity for the Vice President of ENIB, Prof. Genti Kruja. Mr. Kruja has been elected for the next three years as the new President of European National Interreligious Bodies in Religions for Peace Europe.

The Board welcomes and expresses appreciation for Prof. Kruja and they look forward to work together closely in the future.

They are also grateful for the years of tireless service former President Dr. Luigi de Salvia has offered to ENIB, and they note a vote of thanks to him. He continues to be representative of Italy on the ENIB Board, and he remains President of RfP Italy and RfP Europe until the end of this year (2024).

 

Who is Genti Kruja?

Prof. Genti Kruja is a lecturer of Sociology of Religion, Intercultural and Interfaith Communication and Interreligious Dialogue at Bedër University College.He is the member of the Trustee Board of the University and the Secretary General of the Inter-Religious Council of Albania.

He has participated and contributed in many international conferences on Education, Freedom of Religion and Interfaith Dialogue. He is author of many research papers and book chapters published by leading publishing houses as well as author of the book “Albanians Facing the Challenges of Interfaith Understanding” and “History of Interfaith Dialogue”.

In 2021, he was elected as member of the European Union External Action Service (GERIS). In 2022, he participated in the Exchange program at Seattle University, Washington, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State; he was elected as expert of Religious Freedom at OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR); International Fellow of the KAICIID and from 2022 he was Vice President of European National Interreligious Bodies-Religions for Peace, Europe.

On February 15, 2024 he elected as a President of European National Interreligious Bodies (ENIB) in Religions for Peace, Europe.
